IN MEMORIAM

"A Favorite Hobo"

Tiny left our earthly realm
in August of aught-five.
He left behind the Jersey parks
Where the band would come alive.

He traded in his Hobo garb
for silken robe and wings.
He's gone to play a different gig...
Where saint and angel sings.

Gone the lighted tuba
from the festive Christmas stand...
An empty place, where once he stood --
Now he plays in Gabriel's band.

So long, Tiny, and Godspeed.

Elbert W. Warren Jr., “TINY,” age 61 of Williamstown, N.J. died on Monday, August 8, 2005.

Born in Woodbury, Tiny lived in Williamstown for 27 years, moving there from Elmer. He was a graduate of Woodbury High School, Class of 1962. He was employed with St. John of God Westville Grove prior to becoming plant manager for Bestwork Industries for the Blind, Runnemede. Since 1963 he has been a member of the Original Pitman Hobo Band and was a member of the Weekstown Band, The Barrington Community Band and the Millville Legion Band. He is survived by a son Elbert W. III “Butch” of Williamstown; a daughter Christina Y. Curry (Charles) of Sicklerville; a brother Donald of Blackwood; companion Alice Singletary of Williamstown; grandchildren C.J., Donnie and Amber Curry.
